My son had been diagnosed as an autistic child, personally I did not accept that fact and began my search for ways to help my son focus, relax and have a quality life which he so much deserves without having a LABLE over his head. One day I came across an advertisement for Snug Vest, a very unconventional way of helping children with a variety of issues. I had made the decision to try all and every product (exception of medication) that would and could help my son. We started with using the vest when he was playing on the beach, told him it was for security. The results were and are amazing, it provides him with the feeling of having someone giving him a hug all the time.

The results were, little by little having more attention, less emotions eruptions, peace of mind, went from needing a teachers aid to being fourth in his class. Learned how to skate, swim and dance. Now is in martial arts. He is now 7 years of age and is a focused and playful as all kids his age. With humble gratitude I say thank you to all you at Snug Vest.

The Snug Vest is truly the perfect product for many of the very special infants and children I have cared for-including one of my quite amazing grandsons. The deep pressure right in the core of the body offers the little one both security and control of a body that is often disregulated and simply out of sync. I have seen the calmness that comes as the vest is pumped up to just the right tightness to provide just the right sense of peace. I have seen more success both at school and at play as this seems to allow a greater ability to focus on classroom activity rather than all focus just going to sitting still.

Perhaps equally important for the school aged child is that this vest is stylish and attractive- it does not look at all like a therapeutic device. My Grandson's friends all wear vests to school, his does not appear to be any different so there is no teasing or embarrassing questions.

I have recommended the "Snug Vest" to both parents and therapists as I have seen the benefits first hand.

Tristan is using his Snug Vest at school 2-3 times a day for about 20 minutes each time when he starts to feel stressed and/or overwhelmed. He pumps air to the pressure he chooses and releases air if he has pumped too much for his comfort which is fantastic as it gives him absolute independence and a perfect "sensory fit" to his needs. I have noticed that the amount of air pressure he pumps changes day to day and his 1:1 Aide has noticed that as well. He is much calmer, more able to attend to his work and less fidgety as well. School has mentioned that his focus has increased and his handwriting is becoming way more legible. What a wonderful product for my 14 year old!

My son Loves deep pressure, we started to notice this when he would try and squeeze himself between his bed and the wall, or we would find him taking the couch coushins off and piling them ontop of himself, he would laugh and giggle when ever his older brother would lay on him or give him a BIG hug, I started to realize he needed his DEEP Pressure more when he would always ask for Hugs, and Squeeze us, so we would squeeze back he would sit in our arms for LONG periods of time as long as we were squeezing him, out in public he would constantly ask for these hugs and sometimes from strangers. Now that we have the Snug Vest our son will pump it up to where he likes and he will wear it for the full 20 mins recommended after that he is good calm and relaxed he doesn't ask for his Famous Big Hugs as much ( We miss that) but it helps him calm down for bed time and for school and any outing we have planned, 20 mins of the vest and hes good to go. My targeted use of the Snug Vest was as an aid to relaxation from working in a fast paced high pressure setting during my final months of employment. The burnout damage had been done and it was time to get out; not to try changing my outlook on working longer. Taking a session in the vest before work would send me off prepared to deal with the day. The deep pressure therapy sensation could retain its presence for up to two hours into the working day. Knowing I could come home after work and enjoy a session in the vest made those last days go by relatively easy. Yes, it is an enjoyable sensation; an adjustable comfortable hug which triggers a full body relaxation in about ten minutes. It is like nothing else I have ever experienced and it is very effective.

We’ve had our Snug Vest now for several months, and our autistic son uses it regularly, mostly at school. His Educational Assistant says it’s made a big difference in his ability to concentrate, and focus on a task or on schoolwork, and she noticed the difference almost immediately. We think the Snug Vest has been a great investment that has helped our son both at school and at home.

My son has autism, and after much frustration with weighted vests on my son, I thought to myself, "there has to be a better alternative". After searching on Google for something, Snug Vest came up. I was actually very excited to find this product as I just knew this vest would work for my son. The vest came in yesterday and the vest was an instant hit on my son. Trey has been very receptive to wearing the vest, and 3/4 times we see a significant increase in regulation and attention through out the rest of his day after he's worn it. When Trey is escalating (grabbing, hitting himself, occasional tears, verbal and/or physical protest, and flushed cheeks), his tantrum may last anywhere from one to five minutes on average. We usually see these behaviors occur when Trey has been denied access to something preferred, or during transition time to a non-preferred activity. He requires maximum visual prompting during this time, and modeling of expected behavior (deep breathing, still body, calm voice) in order to de-escalate. With the Snug Vest, Trey's escalations when denied access or during transitions have decreased to 1/5 occasions, and he's able to self-regulate with minimal visual prompting. Since Trey has always responded well to deep pressure and heavy work, I truly believe the Snug Vest is a great tool for Trey to use throughout his day to remain engaged and regulated.

The Snug Vest arrived today, and Etelka is so pleased with it. Within a few seconds of inflating it, she felt so calm! She said that the pressure makes her feel like she is being hugged, and the hood helps keep out light, which causes her to feel overstimulated. She said she feels like a turtle in a shell, especially when she is laying on her belly and curled up in a ball. As to product improvement, Etelka recommends a string to tighten the hood and something to put more compression on the shoulders. Even absent these features, however, she finds the Snug Vest to be a great product, and we are happy to recommend it to others. It was definitely worth waiting for!

We received our Snug Vest earlier this week. Thank you! What a feat of engineering! My nine year old (high-functioning autistic) son was so excited! He tried it out right away and he said it made him feel safe and hug-able. Since then, he has worn the Snug Vest (for 20 minute periods) about three times a day. In fact it looked so cool that my 5 year-old neuro-typical child now wishes he could have autism so he would get his own Snug Vest!

A fantastic product! The idea behind this is truly amazing. I was so concerned with weighted vests and putting that extra weight on my two kids that have autism, and didn't know what effects it would have on their growing bodies in the future. We didn't like the weighted vest because it restricted their movement. Both of my kids enjoyed the inflatable Snug Vest, and I see it as a tool to help them with their school work to feel comfort, and to calm them down from being upset.

My son with ASD and Down Syndrome used your vest during speech therapy, and his speech therapist said it helped him a lot. During and after he wore it, he was a lot calmer as he sat in his seat and didn't rock back and forth anymore.

I work with many students who have autism spectrum disorders, fetal alcohol syndrome and/or sensory processing disorders. We frequently use weighted products like vests, but much of what is commercially available are just not cool enough looking. Your pressure vest is great because it is not unlike something a typical adolescent might wear.

I have been researching on deep pressure products, mainly vests but also weighted blankets, for a long time but have not found the 'right one' until I saw your vest. I have severe asthma and need a vest that is easy to take off or 'get rid of the pressure' when having an attack and one where I can control the quantity of pressure with as I crave very deep pressure. I was looking at Velcro ones, however they all seem to be a two person job to get on and off and set up, so when I found your vest I was immediately 'caught'!

The Snug Vest has helped one of my clients, Jill*, who is recovering from a traumatic brain injury. Jill found that when she wore the Snug Vest, the compression though her torso helped reduce the intensity of her headache, helped her to organize her thoughts, increased mental clarity and decreased dizziness. Jill describes a situation which illustrates how the Sung Vest helps her '...I felt like my head would explode, I put on the vest and it helped reduce this feeling, I melted into the vest and instantly felt relief'.

I found the Snug Vest team incredibly helpful and efficient and will use this product again in the future should an opportunity arise.

We used the Snug Vest with a multitude of children and teens at our clinic. It is very versatile and can be adjusted and individualized for the child’s needs. Many of our clients enjoyed the Snug Vest and found it very calming for their bodies. One of my favorite moments was putting it on one of our children, pumping it up and watching a gigantic smile come across his face.

In my experience with the Snug vest, I appreciate that it allows the wearer to control how much deep pressure input they want at various times. Children love to wear it because it not only makes them feel safe, secure and relaxed, but it also looks good. For many of my younger clients when they are wearing it they pretend they are sailors, pirates, space explorers or super heroes with their special vest.
